R. Tyler Williams
Co-Founder & President
Mr. Williams co-founded Wurldtech in 2007 with partner Dr. Nate Kube and as President, is now responsible for implementing strategic plans for revenue growth, defining marketing and commercial strategies, and strengthening strategic partnerships with industrial stakeholders worldwide. Mr. Williams is a recognized subject matter expert in the fields of industrial cyber security and critical infrastructure protection for SCADA, process automation, control and safety system stakeholders worldwide - being called upon frequently as a trusted cyber security advisor to fortune 500 organizations and government security agencies worldwide. Mr. Williams is a member of numerous international standards organizations such as ISA SP99, and WIB, actively participates in many industrial cyber security working groups and is a regular speaker at many industry conferences.
Dr. Nate Kube
Co-Founder & CTO
Dr. Kube is Wurldtech’s Chief Technical Officer and Co-founder. He is an internationally recognized thought leader in critical infrastructure protection and is an expert in security for high-availability process automation and control networks. Dr. Kube utilizes his extensive background in formal test methods, embedded systems testing, combinatorial generation and computational complexity to direct Wurldtech’s technology innovation group to design innovative solutions for improving the safety and security of global critical infrastructure. Dr. Kube chairs ISA 99’s Technical Requirements, serves as the Industrial Cyber Security subject matter expert for the International Instrumentation Association’s Plant Security Working Group, has co-authored numerous best practices for the industrial automation industry.
Erik Dysthe
Executive Chairman & CEO
A long time board advisor to Wurldtech, Erik Dysthe, former CEO of MDSI, was appointed Chairman of the Board in September 2007 and recently as CEO in 2010. In his role, Mr. Dysthe’s twenty-plus years experience as a strategist, entrepreneur and technologist is relied upon to provide Wurldtech with the vision, insight and guidance to grow into the global leader in industrial cyber-security. Mr. Dysthe’s career dates back to the 1980s when he was the senior executive in charge of building a mobile data business in Europe for MDI Mobile Data International, a predecessor company to MDSI that got taken over by Motorola in 1988. In 1992, Mr. Dysthe negotiated the purchase from Motorola of the workforce management technology to establish MDSI. Over the next fifteen years, MDSI established itself as a leader in the mobile work-force management space supplying electric, gas and water utilities as well as telco and cable operators worldwide. Prior to joining MDI in 1984, Mr. Dysthe enjoyed a successful career in sales and marketing in the petrochemical business. Mr. Dysthe currently serves on the board of DDS Digital Dispatch Systems Inc. (TSX “DD”), Optimal Geomatics Inc. (TSX-V “OPG”) and Pacific BioEnergy Corporation.
Simon Buckett
Vice President, Finance & Operations
Responsible for the Company’s operations and financial reporting, Mr. Buckett brings over ten years of finance and project management experience of working in private and listed technology companies from the United Kingdom to Canada and the US. Simon trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in London, England, before taking a role in KPMG’s Information, Communication and Entertainment Assurance Practice in Vancouver. During his tenure, he established a proven track record for financial leadership major global accounts. Prior to joining the Wurldtech team, he was a Manager of the Technology Audit Department for Ernst & Young, LLP, responsible for technology companies from Silicon Valley to Vancouver. Simon consulted on internal control and governance policy, and the implementation of Sarbane’s Oxley in a number of SEC registrants and managed the reporting requirements of a range of private and public Vancouver based companies. Mr. Buckett is a graduate of the Warwick Business School in the UK and holds a Bachelors of Science, Management Sciences.
Chris Sandford
Manager, Security Services
Now leading Wurldtechs Global Security Services Division, Chris ensures that Wurldtech will deliver quality projects, on time within a defined methodology, using Wurldtechs world class security resources. Chris has worked for over 20 years in the cyber security and ICT arena with a focus on the manufacturing and critical infrastructure industry. Chris has previously worked at the European Space Agency, where he managed the network infrastructure team which designed and implemented numerous infrastructure projects. Whilst working for INS (International Network Services), Chris was engaged at Shell where he helped design the standard Shell Electronic Security Perimeter, the Shell Group Security Policy and Processes for Control Systems Security. He also helped design the methodology and conduct the initial Shell Risk Assessments to create the business cases for securing production environments. INS was purchased by BT (British Telecom) in 2007 and during these 3 years Chris led a team of consultants integrating them into BT, as well as supporting the delivery of many projects.
Greg Maciel
Manager, Sales
As the Sales Manager, Greg Maciel is responsible for overseeing Wurldtech’s™ global sales strategies. With an established track-record of success in creating long-term, profitable client relationships, Mr. Maciel brings to the position over 20 years of strategic selling experience gained from numerous enterprise software leaders including proven expertise in the instrumentation & controls and the network security market. Greg Maciel has over 20 years of experience in process instrumentation, control and automation, safety instrumented systems design and project execution. In his current role, Greg Maciel is responsible for overseeing Wurldtech’s™ global sales strategies. Before that, he held a variety of account management roles at Siemens, OSIsoft , and BW2 Solutions. He is a graduate of Whittier College in BioChemistry.
Sam Roberts
Manager, Software Development
Sam manages for the ongoing development of Wurldtech’s core product, the Achilles Satellite Testing Platform. Sam graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering and Physics. Since then he has accumulated more than 14 years development experience in Software development in process control and automation environments such as the Canadian Mint, as well developing software cryptography and security at Certicom and Bycast. He has extensive knowledge of a wide variety of programming languages and the protocols used in the Automation industry. Sam joined the company in June 2007 and, using his experience in the development of innovative tools and technologies, lead the development of the industry leading Achilles Satellite Testing Platform. Sam and his team are responsible for expanding the testing capabilities of the platform, and identifying new vulnerabilities impacting the words critical infrastructure.
