Wurldtech & The European Organization For Nuclear Research
We typically do not blog about customer engagements given our restrictive disclosure requirements and sensitive nature of our work, but thankfully more and more of our users are starting to speak out and share their experiences with the Achilles technology. One of our latest users just happened to be the security team at CERN, the international nuclear research facility that houses the now infamous large hadron collider (LHC).
If you aren’t familiar with CERN you can learn more here.
Unfortunately, we can’t share the results of our testing but we can share with you a quote from the manager ...

Hirschmann Selects Achilles
This particular customer win offers some food for thought when thinking about cyber security in the context of functional industrial operations. The Achilles platform is widely adopted by manufacturers of embedded systems like SCADA PLCs, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), from organizations such as ABB, Emerson, Hima and Invensys. However, cyber security issues are not limited solely to end-point devices. You may have seen the latest release regarding the first Achilles Certified OPC Driver from MatrikonOPC which demonstrates an evolution from embedded devices into host-based applications and industrial connectivity, but what about moving up the typology into ...

Wurldtech On The Hill
I have just wrapped up a day on Capitol Hill and must say, that for the first time in a long time, I am extremely encouraged by the pragmatic approach to legislation being taken by both the executive and legislative branches. Functional Cyber Security Training For Automation Professionals
The Wurldtech Labs team has been working tirelessly over the past month since announcing the creation of the Center of Excellence for Energy Infrastructure Protection to select and construct the first research project based on end-user member feedback. In case you don’t know, the Center of Excellence is a consortium effort started by Wurldtech at the request of some of the world’s largest energy sector stakeholders (Electric Utilities, Oil & Gas) who felt under served by current public / private sector organizations and underrepresented in the general control systems security discourse. The effort, which is located at the University of British ...

Tyler Williams To Discuss Smart Grid Cyber Security In China
As the demand for AMI solutions grows throughout the electric power industry worldwide, China seems to be taking a slightly more cautious approach than many in North America - who have been largely driven by the powerful combination of compelling economics and government stimulus funding - and starting with a clear strategy that deals with standardizing security and interoperability testing before approving massive installations that may cause significant issues down the road. This has long been our position and message to the industrial cyber security community and we are glad to see China weighing-in with what we consider to be ...
