A stakeholder group often ignored by common cyber security products and services are the organizations hired to design, install and service large scale industrial networks, either during a new site deployment or regular scheduled plant maintenance. The deployment of any new system or the adjustments of typology, architecture or software configurations, fundamentally changes the overall risk profile of any industrial network. Without the proper methodology and approach and associated diagnostic tools, identifying vulnerabilities and associated impacts are nearly impossible. Until now, asset owners / end-users of real-time, high availability industrial networks have been largely responsible for testing, diagnosing and fixing digital disruptions that arise on their industrial networks - and even more importantly have borne the risk and cost of any unintended disruption from network attacks.
