Presentation Description:
Industrial Cyber Security continues to be an emerging challenge for automation and process control users. With awareness of vulnerabilities on the rise, upward trends in incidents, and increasing attention from governmental legislative bodies, insurance companies, and industry regulators, today's automation customer is being asked to perform tasks and report results on a discipline that is often quite confusing to those involved. The ISA-99 standard has recently completed two important works on this subject, with another document due very soon, and continuing work that is breaking new ground and changing industry. This session will discuss the current state of the standard, what guidance is available, what it means to industry, and how to go about implementing these documents within your environment. It is the intent of the presenters to show that cyber security for industrial automation does not have to be an arduous and confusing task and there are indeed very solid and performance driven mechanisms by which security can be evaluated, implemented, and improved.
